Filled and reinforced compounds

The group of thermoplastics which through the use of glass fibers (various lengths), carbon fibers and other fillers can modify / increase the strength of the final component.  Fiber filled compounds significantly improve impact strength, making them ideal for metal replacement applications. Long fiber glass-filled compounds have more than twice the impact strength of short fiber glass-filled compounds. Other benefits include improved long-term creep and fatigue and better dimensional stability especially at elevated temperatures. Reinforced compounds are ideal metal replacement materials. They offer many benefits including weight reduction, increased throughput, part consolidation, reduction of secondary processing, and improved chemical resistance.
